Naval career

He commanded the submarines from 1987 to 1990 and from 1991 to 1994. He went on to command the frigate from 1997 to 1998 and the aircraft carrier from 2002 to 2004.

Trevor Soar was appointed Capability Manager (Precision Attack) in 2004 in the rank of Rear Admiral
