. The company was founded in 2001 by Artistic Director Jack Cummings III and Robyn Hussa. The Transport Group's mission is to stage new works and reimagine revivals by American writers. Their visually progressive productions of emotionally classic stories explore the challenges of relationships and identity in modern America. Since 2001, the Transport Group has staged thirteen productions: seven plays and six musicals, including six world premieres and seven revivals. Although they have produced play readings, solo shows and special events and have done outreach projects to disadvantaged communities, their main focus now is the presentation of two fully staged works annually.
