 an Australian Rules football compertition which began in 1893. Towong FC played its first season in 1904 after the team relocated from Khancoban, NSW. At the start of the 1905 season the changed their name to Towong Wanderers FC. After only spending two seasons at Towong they relocated once again to Thowgla, Vic (1906–1907) before returning to Khancoban, NSW in 1908.

Towong Turf Club

Towong has a horse racing club, the Towong Turf Club, which schedules one race meeting a year, the Towong Cup meeting in March.
