Geography

The area consists of 42 sq. mi., 41.02 sq. mi (97.67%) of which is land and .98 sq. mi. (2.33%) of it is water.

Demographics

As of the 2000 census the Tomorrow Valley area was home to 2,983 people, 1,070 households, and 767 families. The population density was about 71.02 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the area was 98.69% White, .12% African American, .34% Native American, .25% Asian, .06% from Other races, and .55 from two or more races. There were approximately 1,160 housing units at an average density of 27.62 per sq. mile. There were 1,070 households out of which 36.15% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.85% were married couples living together, 6.4% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, 28.53% were non-families.

Education

The area is served by the Tomorrow River School District, known as TRSD or TR Schools, which consists of a pre-K-12 school system in a single 160,000 sq. ft. building in Amherst. The building is separated into three sections, Amherst Elementary (pre-K through 5th grade), Amherst Middle School, or AMS (6th-8th grades), and Amherst High School, or AHS (9th-12th grades). There are about 75 students per grade level.

Community institutions

The Tomorrow Valley area is home to the Lettie Jensen Community Center, the Lettie Jensen Library, two banks, three post offices, a supermarket, three hair salons, ten taverns, two antique shops, two gas stations, a video rental store, a law office, a brewery, an industrial park, a co-op, a coffee shop, an ice cream shop, fast food restaurant, and several churches.
