Thomas "Tom" Luna is the current Superintendent of Public Instruction in Idaho, sworn in on January 1, 2007. Before being elected to this position, he served on the Nampa School Board for seven years, three as chairman, and on the Idaho Achievement Standards Commission and Idaho Assessment and Accountability Commission. From 2003 to 2005 Luna worked for the U.S. Department of Education
