Timber Creek High School sits on 278000 square feet (25,827 m²) and contains 32 academic classrooms, 12 laboratory classrooms, a music suite, 2 art classrooms, an industrial technology lab and a design-drafting classroom. In the high school itself there is a large auditorium which seats 1,000 people, a large cafeteria, and a Library/Media center which contains a television studio. The whole building is fully air-conditioned.

It serves students from surrounding neighborhoods, such as Wye Oak Village, Senator Walk, Cobblestone Farms, Mayfair Woods, Mayfair Meadows, Wood's Edge, Country Oaks, Forest Woods, Forest Ridge, Mulberry Station, Raintree, Dunleigh, Stonebridge Run, Westbury, Spring Valley, Meadowbrook, Revere Run I & II, Brittany Woods, Asten Woods, Wood Hill, King's Gate, Terrestria, Courts at Stonebridge Run, Sturbridge Oaks, and numerous other neighborhoods.

The 2008 Boys Track and Field Team won Olympic Conference, South Jersey Group III Championship, and New Jersey Group III State Championship. In the 2008-09 winter track season the 4x4 relay team of Derrick Henry, Allen Jackson, Saliym Starkey and Damiere Byrd ran an indoor record with the time of 3:21. In the 55, Damiere Byrd was named the fastest in Group III, ran the fastest time in NJ, the fastest for a sophomore and a time that ranked eighth nationally.
