. He was knighted on 26 July 1603. In 1604 he became alderman of Lime Street ward, remaining until 1612. He was president of Bethlem and Bridewell from 1606 to 1613. In 1610 he was Master of the Mercers Company again. In 1612 he became alderman for Bassishaw ward and remained until 1627. He was president of St Bartholomew's Hospital
