. He is the son of T. R. Harihara Sharma and the younger brother of ghatam maestro T. H. Vinayakaram. He is one of the few remaining exponents of konnakol or solkattu, the art of producing percussion music through one's vocal cords.

He has released the first instructional DVD for ghatam and konnakol in 2007.
