. Lopez also hosted a DuMont series Dinner Date from the Hotel Taft in New York City for a few months in 1950.

The program, produced and distributed by DuMont, originally aired for fifteen minutes (6:45-7:00 PM) every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on most DuMont affiliates. In May 1949, the series was expanded to thirty minutes and was aired Monday through Friday. DuMont cancelled the series in 1951. Six years later, Lopez would go on to host a similar program on CBS. The DuMont version featured notable performers including Ray Barr, Lee Russell
