The Summer Slaughter Tour is an annual death metal tour originally held in the United States, but now in Europe and as of 2009, Australia and New Zealand.

It is dubbed "The Most Extreme Tour of the Year".
The tour originated in 2007 with headliners Necrophagist
Necrophagist

, and has since continued and become one of the biggest growing metal tours in the world today.

Summer Slaughter '08 was held in the United States and took place between June 20 and July 28, 2008. There was also a full Canadian portion of the tour between May 23 and June 8. The tour made its Australian debut on March 2009, taking place in five cities, plus one date in Auckland, New Zealand.
