, a herald of the Greek forces in the Trojan War, who died after defeat in a shouting contest with Hermes. However, it keeps a Latin motto: "Magna veritas, est prevalebit," or "Truth is mighty and it shall prevail." The paper began publishing in 1886, and still produces issues every Thursday, with a circulation of 1,000 that is available throughout campus and is also sent to parents and alumni upon request. As the main open forum for students to express their opinions, The Stentor has played an important role in evincing student dissatisfaction with the college's administration. Even more, it has allowed faculty and staff to eliminate rumored changes in policy, by giving them the chance to reach student readers. Past issues of The Stentor can be reached on the archives page.
