Before the album was released frontman Travis McCoy stated "It's just gonna be a real, real solid record. The demos we have now are just bananas, ...(Guitarist) Disashi is just a monster on the new stuff. You're going to hear a lot more of him singing on this one and a lot more of his guitar skills that I don't think he really got to flex on the last record."

Singles
The first single off the album was "Peace Sign/Index Down" which featured Busta Rhymes. It however made no impact globally so it was released alongside "Blinded By The Sun" and "Cookie Jar" featuring The-Dream. A video was shot for both "Peace Sign/Index Down" & "Cookie Jar" as they were official singles whereas "Blinded by the Sun" was a pre-release single off the album.
The next single off the album will be "Guilty as Charged" featuring Estelle. The song premiered on U.K. radio november 1st. Travis McCoy announced on 102.7 Kiss Fm, in Los Angeles, Gym Class Heroes are planning to shoot the video for "Guilty As Charged" in Las Vegas sometime soon.
Early Release In some stores, this album was released before the release date. The most prominent example is Future Shop, with the album being out on shelves before the release date, September 9th.
iTunes Version Along with the normal 14 track album, iTunes also offered an extended edition for $12.99 that included three "Stressed Out Remix" versions of "Cookie Jar" and "Blinded By the Sun" and music videos of "Peace Sign / Index Down" and "Cookie Jar".
Sales
The Quilt debuted at #14 in the Billboard Top 200 selling 32,266 units.
It has also debuted at #41 in the UK Albums Chart, which is disappointing, as the second single from the album became their third top ten hit in the UK. In the US, the album sold 95,769 copies to date. This is a huge fall from their previous album as their last album was declared gold.
