The Quicksilver Classic was the third event to be staged at Quicksilver Golf Club, which has held both a Nike Tour event and a Senior PGA Tour event in the past. The first installment of the Quicksilver Classic took place on May 25-28, 2006. The Classic was presented by Ameriprise Financial, and featured a $21,500 champion's purse. The event took place in the same year as the final 84 Lumber Classic
