Spartan closed five Pharm Stores in late September 2007. Information that Spartan planned to sell the remaining Pharm stores came out in January 2008. In April 2008, Spartan Stores announced that "certain assets" from 12 of the 14 remaining Pharm stores would be sold to Rite Aid
