Plot

Michael informs George Sr. and Lucille that he plans to marry Rita. Michael's parents are skeptical about his decision.

Meanwhile, Lindsay and Rita quickly become friends. When Michael takes Lindsay aside and expresses his concerns about the lack of physicality in the relationship, he reveals that he wonders if Rita is just using him for a green card. Lindsay suggests getting a hotel room for the evening.

G.O.B. begins to preparations for a magic trick for the wedding. Rita expresses interest in his magic, so G.O.B plans to somehow involve Rita in his wedding trick.

Michael soon catches up with Rita and invites her to a hotel for the evening. George-Michael drives Rita to Wee Britain so she can get ready for her night with Michael. Here, George Michael first becomes concerned over her strange behavior. While Rita packs for her sleepover, her Uncle Trevor warns her about what Michael expects that night. Rita complains that she wants to have some adult fun, but Uncle Trevor does not agree. During the argument Rita suddenly reveals that Michael plans to marry her. Uncle Trevor forbids this, and keeps Rita from leaving by placing "invisible" locks on the doors.

While Michael waits at the hotel for Rita, he speaks to his father on the phone. They remain on the phone until morning when Michael finally accepts that Rita is not coming to the hotel.
Michael drives to Wee Britain to call off the wedding. Rita explains that the invisible locks made it impossible to open the door. Michael and Rita escape from Uncle Trevor's home through a window, using Buster's original hook on the Marry Poppins wire to get to the ground.

Meanwhile, Uncle Trevor arrives at the Bluth apartment to confront them about Rita, adamantly declaring his opposition to the wedding. However, he reveals the truth about Rita's large fortune and her mental condition. George Sr. and Lucille tell Uncle Trevor that Michael probably has no idea about either of these things. Uncle Trevor vows to stop the wedding, and George Sr. and Lucille misdirect Uncle Trevor to Legoland

. After Uncle Trevor leaves, they suddenly become insistent on the idea of marriage, preoccupied with her apparent wealth.

Michael and Rita are at the hotel when George Michael knocks on the door to speak with his father. He tells Michael about his suspicions that Rita might be mentally retarded. He shows Michael footage of Rita's strange behavior that he filmed earlier. Michael finally comes to a realization and thinks back on the mountain of evidence of Rita's condition he had missed over the past weeks.

Michael returns to Rita and tells her they should wait until after they are married before they are intimate. Michael prepares to let Rita down gently the next morning when he is caught off guard by his family and a surprise wedding. During a family discussion, George Sr. makes an aside about Rita's being retarded; Larry the surrogate repeats it. Michael realizes his family has set up the wedding in order to get Rita's millions, and storms off.

Michael says in a conversation with George Michael that the relationship wouldn't work because she is mentally retarded, just as Rita and Lindsay return. Deeply hurt and embarrassed, Rita runs off with Michael going after her. Michael explains to Rita that things couldn’t work between them and she realizes she must go back to England with Uncle Trevor. After a sad goodbye, Rita walks away over the pool on the water (a reference to the lake scene in Being There

). Michael asks G.O.B. if this is a part of his magic trick but he denies it. In the "next time" segment after the show, G.O.B. reveals that it is indeed part of his "illusion."
