 band from New York, founded in 1985. They split up after issuing one eponymous four-song demo cassette in September 1985.

In 2001, following a revival of interest (particularly for their old song "Cassandra") and appearances on several compilation CDs, the band self-released a collection of their 1985 studio and live recordings (later reissued via Lulu.com and iTunes), and reformed during early 2002, culminating in a reunion show in Brooklyn in December 2002. The band went into hibernation again in early 2003, though they reunited for a special 20th anniversary concert at NYC's Drop Dead Festival

 in October 2005, and plan to eventually record their 2002 material. Bollman and Fasolino were members of Brooklyn dream-pop band Bell Hollow

from 2003–2008, while latter-day vocalist Julia Ghoulia and 2005 drummer D.W. Friend performed with The Brides.
