 and Craig Ward on guitar, and completed by Bert Lenaerts on bass. They were formed midway 2004.

Their debut album Meet the Love Substitutes while the house is on fire (released 14 February 2004) was recorded in a day and a half. Well known for their improvised and often shambolic live shows (see Love Substitution) the Love Substitutes embarked on their first UK shows in January 2006. Their next studio album More songs about hangovers and sailors was released 8 May 2006.

If one or more members aren't available, the group will often perform improvisational gigs under the name "I H8 Camera", with other guest musicians.

In August 2006 Craig Ward pulled the band's MySpace
