The site was started by Tessa Lau in 1995. She collected games from SunSITE's

 games - for a database of just over 100 games.

In 1998 maintenance was taken over by Bob Zimbinski who has run the site since that time.

The database now contains well over 2,000 games and game-related items and also now includes a user rating system, active discussion forums, and an IRC channel.

It also provides forums for game developers and has organized several make overs of almost-there Linux games such as Lincity
