. It had its humble beginnings in 2001, with a few teachers and a handful of students. Today, the school has grown to have a large staff of experienced teachers and over 150 students, alhamdulillah.
It has the five daily prayers at the school. Salat-ul-Jumu'ah, or the Friday prayers, are attended by the students at the Selimiye Camii Mosque, located just a thirty second walk away from the school.

Mission

The Islamic Academy for Peace seeks to provide a foundation of academic excellence and Islamic values that enables young Muslims to become Righteous Leaders for the community.

Recent Events

In 2011, the school celebrated its 10th anniversary.

(June 2007) The Islamic Academy for Peace will continue to operate out of the former Oakland Avenue School building in Methuen for at least 10 more years.
Mayor William Manzi and the trustees of the Oakland Avenue School Trust signed an agreement with the school this month.
The city stopped using the Oakland Avenue School around 1990, and the Islamic group began renting the space in 2001.
The school serves students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade and is close to the Islamic community's mosque.

Jowdy World Knowledge Challenge

The Academy takes part in an annual world geography competition held at the Lawrence Public Library. It has almost always made it to the final round.
