Objectives

The objective of the Clanranald Trust for Scotland in the first place is the preservation and dissemination of Scottish culture and Scottish heritage through entertainment and education.

Youth work and social commitment

Every week, the Trust is working together with groups from the following institutions: Falkirk Council Justice Reform Services, Stirling New Deal Program for long-term unemployedund North Lanarkshire Community Service Programm. The Trust is interested in much of the active support of young people who were previously disadvantaged in educational, social and economic terms. They get the opportunity to participate in projects, the projects will seek their abilities and their potential be encouraged. Long-term unemployed and ex-soldiers should be allowed back into the path of normal everyday life.

History

In 1995 the decision was taken recreate an original medieval village to illustrate the life and the culture of Scotland at that time. The Trust was established and the proceeds and donations taken by the various activities (see above) flow into this project; more than £400,000 has so far been made available for the the construction of Duncarron. A big supporter was found by the film actor Russell Crowe
