The Catholic Transcript was first published on June 17, 1898. It was originally published as a weekly paper, and from its formation on June 17, 1898 until October 25, 1996, that remained true. As demand declined, The Catholic Transcript became a monthly paper, and since December 1996, it has been published on a monthly basis.
