The magazine has eight print issues per year (Jan-Mar, Apr-May, Jun-Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec), geared around the annual workflow cycle of tax and accounting professionals. The magazine was founded in 1991 as The CPA Software News; the name change to The CPA Technology Advisor was implemented in 2004.
