. Formed in 2007, the band consists of guitarist Heath Farmer, bassist Addam Farmer, guitarist and keyboardist Ryan Kilpatrick, keyboardist Austin Farmer, and drummer Matt Champagne. Each of the members, except Champagne, share equal turns as vocalists in the band.

After being together less than four months, home-made demos of the Bolts' original songs landed on the local hour of KROQ-FM

" break competition and earned themselves a spot as one of the stage's closing acts at the 2008 Bamboozle Left festival. They then were awarded the title of Orange County's "Best Pop Artist" from the 2009 OC Music Awards.
