 (IT) solutions company located in Ashburn, Virginia. The company’s name is derived from the Greek word for “purpose” or “goal". Telos primarliy serves Government and Enterprise clients, receiving a large number of its contracts from the United States Department of Defense.

Overview

The company provides secure solutions in four major areas:
  • Secure Networks – Secure wired and wireless network solutions for DoD and federal agencies. They provide wired and wireless voice, data, and video secure network solutions and services to support defense and civilian missions.

  • Information Assurance – Software products and consulting services to automate, streamline, and enforce IT security and risk management processes enterprise-wide. They offer information assurance consulting services and Xacta brand GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) solutions.

  • Secure Messaging – Their Automated Message Handling System (AMHS) offers secure, automated, web-based solutions for distributing and managing enterprise messages formatted for DMS (Defense Messaging System).

  • Identity Management – End-to-end logical and physical security from the gate to the network.

Prominent initiatives

Telos currently leads the NETCENTS contract for the US Government. On March 19, 2009 Telos announced that it will sit on the Open Compliance and Ethics Group’s Technology Council
  • November 2009: Telos was awarded a SmartBuy/Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) blanket purchase agreement with DOD for Xacta IA Manager and Automated Message Handling System (AMHS).

  • October 2009: Telos won Government Security News’ 1st Annual Homeland Security Awards competition in the category of Best Security Compliance, Auditing, Vulnerability Management Solution in the IT Security category for its Xacta IA Manager solution.

  • January 2009: The U.S. Army awarded Telos one of 12 contracts to provide the biometrics services, supplies, and related hardware and software required to assist the Biometrics Task Force, an Army executive agency, as it seeks to develop an enterprise-wide biometrics infrastructure for the DoD.

  • April 2008: Telos Corporation won an $43.5 million Army contract to manufacture the Combat Service Support Automated Information System Interface (CAISI), a secure, tactical wireless local area network modules that provide ‘last mile’ connectivity from warfighters in both the training and operational environment to their logistics networks.

Involvement in the community

Telos corporation is involved in a number of programs designed to better its community with particular focus on education and aiding victims of tragic loss.
  • Victims of Tragic loss

Telos supports TAPS, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, a national non-profit organization providing bereavement services to the families of the men and women of the US military, providing both monetary and in-kind donations. Telos also supports Project Rebirth, a project documenting the reconstruction of the World Trade Center site and the lives of victims of the attack.
  • Education

Telos has a 4 year commitment to the Wolf Trap Institute, an early learning program designed to teach science and math through the arts. Telos also has a formal partnership with C.S. Monroe Technology Center.
