History

The company was created on the January 1, 2006, following the incorporation of the state's four port companies at that time; Hobart Ports Corporation, Port of Launceston, Port of Devonport Corporation and Burnie Port Corporation.

TasPorts was created for the purpose of facilitating trade for the benefit of Tasmania, through the commercial provision of infrastructure
