Tariq Javed played for Karachi Board of Education and Karachi University as well as Karachi Blues in Pakistan during the period: 1965–1968. He then played and captained Quebec Cricket Federation during the period: 1968–1984. He was cricketer of the year 3 times. He played for Canada in the 1979 World Cup and also was the vice captain of the Canadian cricket team during the English tour in 1981, when Canada played the ICC trophy.
