Television New Zealand, more commonly referred to, and stylized as TVNZ, is a government-owned corporation television network broadcasting in New Zealand and parts of the Pacific. It operates TV1, TV2, TVNZ7, TVNZ Heartland, TVNZ U and new media services....

 in 2007. It offers a variety of free content, such as news updates and programmes seen on TVNZ channels (approximately 12 – 24 hours after they are screened).

TVNZ ondemand has been featured in some newspapers and radio interviews because a young teenager was able to access the unreleased website and start downloading shows, and other tasks.

TVNZ ondemand was officially launched March 20, 2007.

Since April 2010, TVNZ ondemand has been available on the PlayStation 3

Content streamed though TVNZ ondemand was previously charged for. All content is now free, ad-supported, with advertisements being shown before and after videos.
