. Feeder schools are: Piney Ridge Elementary, Freedom Elementary, Eldersburg Elementary and Linton Springs Elementary. It consists of sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. It is a positive environment where all students are pushed to excel and do their best. Sykesville has done exceptionally well on the MSA, the standard test for all Maryland students. It was formerly Sykesville High School. It survived three fires, and only one wall still stands from the 1930s, when the original building was built. The school mascot is a scorpion, and the school colors are teal and black. The principal currently is Mr. Billings. The Vice Principal currently is Mr. Fisher.
