History

  • 1925: The signal box was destroyed by fire following a lighting strike.
  • 1970: The signal box was removed.
  • 1972: The station closed to all goods traffic.
  • 1972: All buildings were removed and replaced with a platform shelter.

  • 2000: A new platform was established on the east side of the tracks.
  • 2008: A new platform was established on the west side of the tracks, the east side platform will be re-established to provide platforms on each side of the new double track.
