Format

The show airs seven days each week in an early morning timeslot, with moments cut from their daily shows placed as fillers titled 'Studio 3 Gold'. Numerous segments are shown throughout the intersecting shows, such as interviews with celebrities, musical performances segments entitled 'Music on 3', parody competitions such as 'So You Think You Can Do Nothing' which revolves around the hosts irritating a guest while they try to remain motionless. Raps which revolve around themes sent in via the ABC3 official website. A daily episodic comedy entitled 'Bitcom', which features Tremills, Lobo and another actor, known as the studio 3 janitor, solving problems, the miniseries is partially filmed using webcams which provide the characters thoughts, similar to the mocumentary stylings of The Office

's launch. The special featured Kayne and Amberley counting down of the 'top three ABC3 moments' in different categories from the year. The special aired twice, live from 8 am and repeated at 4 pm.

. Auditions for the show were held online called Me On 3.Over 5000 auditions were sent in and six hosting roles were announced. Two of which were for the program Studio 3. The hosts were then announced as Kayne Tremills and Amberley Lobo with Ben Crawley.

James Elmer, who previously auditioned for Me On 3 was chosen as a third presenter to co-host Studio 3. Executive Producer for ABC TV’s Children’s Television, Jan Stradling, explained “He’s [Elmer] someone who I think will continually surprise our audience, which is a great asset to have on a daily show.” Elmer stated "I’m keen to make the ABC3 audience laugh, so stay tuned because not even I know what’s about to happen next." His first appearance was made on April 4, 2011.
