History

The pool was opened 4 June 1934.

In 1994 Aberdeenshire Council had plans to close the pool but a local campaign (Friends of Stonehaven Outdoor Pool) successfully lobbied to save the pool and a partnership with the council now manages the facility.

Current patronage of the pool is over 40,000 visitors per year.
