. It was built between 1658 and 1678 by Kaspar Stockalper, a silk merchant of Brig. The Stockalper Palace was the largest private construction in Switzerland at the time. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance

Today, the castle is uninhabited and visitors may only enjoy access by guided tour. Tours take place during May to October at 9.30, 10.30, 13.30, 14.30, 15.30 and 16.30*. The cost is CHF 8.00 Adults and CHF 3.00 for Children 7-16 years of age.

There are no tours on Mondays or at 16.30 during May and October.

Underground parking is available next to the castle at a reasonable charge.
