bassist Diarmuid Dalton to form Line. Line's only known release is "Hollow", also from The LoFibre Companion. Steve played guitar and recorded the track although the final mix was by Justin Broadrick.

Around the same time Steve, Justin Broadrick and Diarmuid Dalton formed Saskwatch, a minimal electronic project. Saskwatch's only known release is "Pookah", again from The LoFibre Companion.

Steve switched to bass in 2002 to join Birmingham-based post-rockers Grover. As well as playing bass Steve recorded and mixed the majority of Grover's output including the "Husk" and "Tiny Blue Sparks" albums and "414.7 Revolutions" and "Grover" EPs on Bearos and Teleran.

Shortly after Grover's split Steve and Grover's Simon Fox formed Krafla. Although being well received by the press ("Mixing live instruments and electronica is a difficult balancing act, but Krafla manage superbly, adding layers of depth and instrumentation to fragile song structures and delicate melodies"), "…quite glorious guitar arpeggios - it reminds me of something quite beautiful but I can't think what" - Norman Records) Krafla was a relatively short-lived project resulting in a 7" single on Static Caravan and 4-track EP on CD on Bearos.

Formed in 2004 Einstellung is now Steve's main focus. Releasing "Wings Of Desire" on CD and, recently double-vinyl on Capsule and "Sleep Easy Mr Parker", a 28-minute, one-track CD single on Bearos, Einstellung now have their own label, Powerkrautrecords and a second album due imminently. Einstellung's work has been likened to My Bloody Valentine (‘Schwester’ is probably the sort of thing people have been thinking of in the past when they’ve ventured similarities between Einstellung and My Bloody Valentine; that is to say that much of its duration is spent picking the listener up, carrying him to the runway and letting him admire the turbined bellow of the jet engines), Bardo Pond and Neu! ("If Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother had undergone their musical educations in 1990s Birmingham instead of 1960s Berlin, the music they would have made together under the Neu! banner probably would have sounded a lot like Einstellung's debut, Wings Of Desire") amongst others.

Alongside Einstellung and Torque, Steve collaborates with Andrew Moscardo-Parker and like-minded musicians in the Lash Frenzy noise collective. Alongside a half hour performance of feedback in the key of C entitled "C" on Powerkrautrecords, Lash Frenzy play unusual sound and visual shows "…engaging with theories of the sublime".
