, located in the village of Stepney. It was established next to the Stepney Green in 1794. Many of the area's earliest settlers are buried in the cemetery; the oldest headstone belongs to Nathaniel W. Knapp (died 1787). The cemetery is also known as Birdsey's Plain Cemetery or Beardsley Plain Cemetery. Next to the cemetery is Our Lady of The Rosary Chapel. The pastor there is "Bishop" Robert McKenna

. She supposedly travels back and forth between the two cemeteries by way of Stepney Road. In 1993, an off-duty fireman was driving his pickup somewhere on Pepper Street (where the cemetery sits). Suddenly the road in front of him took on a reddish glow. In those few surreal seconds, he saw a farmer with a straw hat sitting beside him and a lady in white approaching in the roadway with her hands reaching out toward him. He slammed on the brakes, but it was too late. He heard a thud and even ended up with a dent from the impact, yet no trace of the woman, or the farmer who had been sitting beside him, was ever found. The fact that he heard and was left with physical evidence of the impact is most unusual in cases of cars driving through or into apparitions.
