State Road 800 (Florida)

State Road 800 locally known as Spanish River Boulevard/NW 40th Street, is a short east–west street in Boca Raton, Florida
. Its western terminus is an intersection with Palm Beach County Road 809, locally known as Military Trail; the eastern terminus is an intersection with North Ocean Boulevard (Florida State Road A1A
) near the Atlantic Ocean
shoreline at the northeastern corner of Spanish River Park.
SR 800 provides the only access to SR A1A and the Boca Raton beaches in northern Boca Raton. It is one of only three beach access roads within the Boca Raton city limits, the other two being Palmetto Park Road (the north–south dividing line in Boca Raton, formerly Florida SR 798
and El Camino Real to the south.
State Road 800 begins at an intersection with Palm Beach County Route 809, the continuation of State Road 809 (Military Trail), at the Lynn University

. The route progresses eastward as the four-lane Spanish River Boulevard (and Northwest 40th Street) through several commercial developments. Soon after the intersection with Communication Avenue in the Boca Raton's campus for Florida Atlantic University
, the highway heads to the north of Boca Raton Airport
and crossing under Interstate 95
.
State Road 800 winds its way along the airport's northern side, passing some large hangars and intersects with Airport Road. From there, the highway straightens back out to a four-lane arterial and soon enters a large condominium development along its eastbound side. At the intersection with Northwest 4th Avenue, State Road 800 turns to the southeast, passing several local residences. Entering downtown Boca Raton, the highway crosses a local freight line and then intersects with State Road 811 (the Dixie Highway). The route passes a strip mall as a four-lane boulevard and continues past an intersection with U.S. Route 1
(Federal Highway). After leaving downtown Boca Raton, State Road 800 crosses the Intercoastal Waterway on a large drawbridge and reaches its terminus at an intersection with State Road A1A
(North Ocean Boulevard) along the beachside of Boca Raton.
