Stamsund is a popular tourist destination, and especially popular is accommodation in the traditional fishermen's shacks, called Rorbuer

Previously, there was a hotel in Stamsund, but as of 2009, it is no longer in service. There are, however, several options for tourists, such as Ytterviks Rorbuer.
