The pilot episode eventuality aired on Adult Swim's "DVR theater" on January 19, 2011. It is currently unknown if Southies will be picked up for further episodes.

History

Southies was created by Will Hayes and animation producer Carl W. Adams, who was a South Boston native himself. The voice cast of Southies consists of amateur Boston natives. The pilot episode for Southies was written by Will Hayes and first released on V Cast Video

in summer of 2009. Southies was later posted online on Adultswim.com in 2010 as part of the network's "Big, Uber, Network, Sampling" contest, in which eight different pitch pilots were posted on AdultSwim.com and fans voted for their favorite to air on television. Southies lost in the finale round of the contest.

The pilot episode of Southies eventually aired on Adult Swim's "DVR theater" on January 19, 2011.
