. Smithdale stretches over parts of four counties, including Amite, Pike, Lincoln, and Franklin counties. Used to be part of the railroad that ran to Gloster in the late 19th century, the Gin Machinery and Rail Depot are still there but have been unoccupied since the Post Office moved to its present location just 2 tenths of a mile east of the old location. Has A Civil War Cemetery which has dates on it from the 18th century.
