Corbet was the son of Richard Corbet of Stoke, Shropshire and his wife Anne Bromley, daughter of Sir Thomas Bromley Lod Chancellor. He was baptised at Ferne Shropshire on 20 May 1594. He was created baronet

Corbet died at the age of 68 and was buried at Market Drayton, Shropshire.

Corbet married Anne Mainwaring daughter of Sir George Mainwaring of Ightfield Shropshire in of before 1620. They had ten sons and two daughters. He was succeeded in the baronetcy by his son John.
