. Service began on March 18, 2007 and also resulted in a restructuring of service. The idea of the Silver Streak came when Line 480, Foothill's most popular line, became a very busy bus line and needed higher-capacity vehicles and enhanced service. The goal of Silver Streak was to eliminate the many deviations and minor stops on Line 480 and provide a quality service that would attract discretionary riders. Officially, the route is known as

The one-way fare is $2.75 ($105 for a monthly pass) for trips of any length, in contrast to the regular Foothill fare of $1.25. A discounted fare of $1.35 for seniors, the disabled, and Medicare card holders applies outside of peak hours. (Peak hours are non-holiday weekdays from 4-10am and from 2-8pm.) Fares were free from the start of service until April 1, 2007.
