In Oct 2009 assembly elections, Both her uncles, Ranveer Singh Mahendra and Sombir Singh, who worked against her in MP elections were defeated because Shurti's mother, Kiran Chaudhary worked against them under the table. It was Kiran and Shruti who have ensured that Bansilal clan is buried under the dirt in political scenarios. Kiran chaudhary who once was aspirant of chief minister's chair was sidelined completely by Sonia Gandhi and B.S. Hooda and have not got any place in the cabinet. But now she is minister in state government.
