travel there to commune with him. The Prophecies of the Dragon state that Tarmon Gai'don
, the Last Battle, will take place in part at Shayol Ghul. Deep within the depths of Shayol Ghul, there is believed to be a place known as the Pit of Doom in which the Dark One resides, it is often heard of in stories and is occasionally used in some sayings implying that they'd much rather be there than where they currently were.
During the Age of Legends, Shayol Ghul was an island resort. It was transformed into its present condition during the Breaking of the World.
