in 1994 and managed 63 league appearances during a four-year spell, before moving back to first club Dundee in 1998. Ironically, McSkimming played exactly the same number of league games before moving in July 2001 to the United States

. On his return to Scotland in 2002, McSkimming began a short spell with Peterhead
, leaving at the end of the 2001-02 season
only to return at the start of the following season
. He retired from playing in 2005 but stayed on in a coaching capacity with the club.
