. Jolley defeated three other candidates to be elected to the position at the party's annual convention in 2008, and served alongside Judy Smith Torrie, who is the party's female deputy leader.

In May 2008, Jolley was charged with trespassing at night after pursuing a known bike thief across private property. In October 2008, the charges were withdrawn and Jolley paid for a security system for the property owner.

Jolley declined to run for the Green Party nomination for the 2011 election
