Margaret McMichael chose 180 acre (0.7284348 km²) along the present-day Cheatham Springs to Fairfield Road because it was an “uneven landscape so like Ireland fertile bottom land.” She and her five children’s chief agricultural products were corn, wheat, hay, fruit, garden vegetables and livestock.
