. He is one of the founder members of Band Miles. He is also a well known singer in west Bengal India.

Biography

Ahmed began his musical career at a young age, when he grew up in a musical family. His father Kamal Das Gupta was a Nazrul song composer and music director, while his mother Feroza Begum was a Nazrul singer. Ahmed took lessons about Nazrul Sangeet in his childhood, but he had western influence because much of his education took place in England, along with his elder brother Hamin Ahmed. They then founded Band Miles which went on to become a leading musical group in Bangladesh. Shafin Ahmed produced several hit songs with the band,including Chand Tara Shurjo, Firey Dau, Jala Jala, Prothom Premer Mato, and Fera Alena. His first song called "It’s Magic (Ki Jadu)" which he wrote during his school years.

reportedly due to personal reasons, believing that Band Miles was no longer a band of mutual respect, creativity and democracy. He also said he would pursue a solo career for himself and, apparently, sees no possibility of taking back his decision and rejoining Miles.

Personal life

Ahmed is the son of Kamal Dasgupta And Feroza Begum, and he is youngest of three brothers. Shafin Ahmed is currently married to Nahin Ahmed.
He has two children.His son,Azraf Rakin Ahmed and his daughter,Raniah Safa Ahmed both were born to his ex-wife Rumana Dowla.
