, Huddersfield University and Leeds Metropolitan University, and in June 2011 completed a redevelopment programme, which involved construction of new buildings to supplement facilities.
Following the opening of the Sixth Form Academy in 2004 and the Renaissance Building in 2006, the third building, aptly named the Jubilee Building, as it was opened in the college's 25th year, welcomed its first students in January 2010. The building programme drew to a close with the completion of a new Construction and Engineering Building and an extension to the existing Renaissance Building to provide additional media facilities, including a new state-of-the-art studio. Both of these buildings opened to students in Autumn 2010, with landscaping and grounds work being completed the following summer.
Selby College is a Tertiary Education College offering 'A' Level courses through its specialist Sixth Form Academy, work-related vocational courses, Apprenticeships, bespoke business training and adult education courses.
Selby College has consistently proven itself to be one of England's Top Performing Colleges, with students achieving some of the highest exam results in the country and the college itself becoming the first in Yorkshire to achieve "outstanding" in all five areas of inspection by Ofsted.
Selby College offers different levels of learning from Entry Level right up to Foundation Degree courses.
Selby College provides vocational courses for 14 to 16 year olds still in school. These courses include GCSE and NVQ's in Engineering, Construction, Administration, Health and Social Care, and Hairdressing. The college also provides a wide range of A Level, vocational courses, Foundation Degree
s and bespoke business training.
Selby College has some of the best exam results in the country, achieving a 99.1% overall 'A' Level pass rate in 2010, with 24 out of 26 subjects having a 100% pass rate.
