He was the leader of the band Scott Dibble and Watertown in the early 1990s. Although his band frequently served as an opening act for his friends in Barenaked Ladies
, the band never made it big, scoring only one Canadian radio hit, "If We Turn Out the Lights".
Dibble also produced material for Barenaked Ladies and Big Sugar
. He co-wrote the song 'New Kid On The Block' which appeared on Barenaked Ladies' 'Gordon' album in 1992.
He subsequently joined Hemingway Corner
, appearing on that band's 1995 album Under the Big Sky.
