Scenic, Arizona is a small unincorporated community in extreme northwestern Arizona. Scenic is recognized as a distinct area by Mohave County planners and documents which reference its existence. It is shown on official maps of Mohave County, but it is currently not a census-designated place.
Scenic is located on the eastern side of the Nevada-Arizona state line from Mesquite, Nevada. The primary road access to Scenic, Arizona is from South Scenic Boulevard which runs south from Highway 91 (the frontage road along the south side of Interstate 15).
Scenic is located within the Mesquite, Nevada Zip Code Area 89042. Residents from Scenic must either use the Post Office in Mesquite (Zip Code 89042) or in Littlefield, Arizona (Zip Code Area 86432). The Littlefield, Arizona, United States Post Office provides post office boxes for several small communities along the Virgin River and Interstate 15 in the extreme northwestern corner of the State of Arizona within Mohave County. None of these communities is incorporated. The communities are known as Littlefield, Beaver Dam, Scenic, Arvada, and Desert Springs.
Scenic is within the Littlefield Unified School District #9 which is geographically the largest school district in Arizona.
Scenic, like all of the Arizona Strip
area, is isolated from the rest of the State of Arizona due to its location north of the Grand Canyon and Colorado River. In order to drive to the rest of Arizona, one must drive either through Nevada or Utah or fly from the airports in Mesquite, Nevada or St. George, Utah.
The area is popular among many snowbird
s who leave colder parts of the world to spend some time here to enjoy the beautiful area and climate with its many recreational opportunities. The area has many golf courses,parks and casinos and is not far from the entertainment available in Las Vegas. Natural beauty can be found in the Paiute Wilderness, Grand Canyon Parashant National Monument and the Virgin River narrows and canyon and throughout the region.
Scenic properties are mostly residential, but there are several businesses in the community, including the "Scenic General Store" at 3767 S. Scenic Blvd., Palms Golf Club, Mesquite Motocross Park, Oasis Gun Club, Staker Parson Companies, Desert Skies Resort, Scenic Mini-Storage and La Santisima Trinidad Catholic Church. Most businesses use a Mesquite, Nevada Post Office Box address or a P.O. Box in Littlefield to the east, because of the lack of postal services in the Scenic community.
