 from an average family. She was brought up in a small village in Kushtia. She generally likes to sing Fakir Lalon Shah's songs. She did not have a formal education in music. Salma has taken Lalon Shah as her inspiration. Her father is her main driving force along with her family.

"She is truly a natural singer. I always get the fragrance of Bangladesh in her voice. I am not at all surprised as she walked away with the first prize", said Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, one of the judges of the Closeup1 competition.
